Damien Hirst and Alexander McQueen Collaboration

The Alexander McQueen skull-print scarf has hit its 10 showcased in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2003 collection, the skull print scarf has become a much loved accessory by all, becoming even more popular after the death of the brand’s late founder in 2010.

In celebration, British artist Damien Hirst will be reworking the classic, and creating a collection of 30 new designs. He is no new comer to the fashion industry, having previously worked on projects with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, for their clothing line The Row, along with denim giant, Levis.

The prints will be inspired by Hirst’s ‘Entomology’ paintings, featuring butterflies, bugs and spiders amongst other insects, forming colourful, kaleidoscopic and geometric shapes to create the iconic skull motif. Both McQueen and Hirst have always shown great interest in symmetrical design, and the dark side of nature, so this collaboration could not be more perfect.

These greatly anticipated printed scarves will be available from Mid-November, at McQueen Boutiques and online at www.alexandermcqueen.com, in a selection of luxurious fabrics such as chiffon, pongé, twill and cashmere.
