Solange Knowles is unveiled as the new Art Director for Puma
Style icon Solange Knowles, sister of global superstar Beyoncé, has just been announced as the art director and creative consultant for the internationally renowned sportswear brand, Puma.
After years of experience art directing her own projects and visuals, the 27 year old singer is more than qualified, along with her style savvy ways that are sure not to disappoint in her new venture. For her first project with the brand she has asked Gerlan Marcel, Darlene & Lizzy Okpo of William Okpo, and Hisham Bharoocha to reinvent the classic Puma Disc trainer. They have all been asked to take inspiration from the sights and sounds of Brazil. These trainers will make up the new collection, entitled Girls of Blaze, which will be released in February next year. ‘It is in my new role that I am able to express my love for not only design but the conception of creative ideas, and the execution of them by curating amazingly talented teams’ – Bang Showbiz
