Lifestyle: How Money Impacts Our Relationships

Shepherds Friendly have conducted a survey and partnered up with psychologist and relationship expert, Dr Becky Spelman to find out more about the how money impacts relationships. The survey asked a range of questions including who should pay on date night and whether you would break up with your partner if they became bankrupt. There were some very interesting results such as:
• 36.1% of women and 24% of men think money plays a part in how attractive they find a partner.
• 68% of men agree men should pay on a date night, and only 41.9% of women agree that men should pay.
• 31.4% of women and 22.4% of men think that how much their partner earns is important in terms of pursing a relationship.
Dr Becky Spelman has analysed the data and explained what the results could mean, and shared relationship advice based on the findings.
