Partners Hair & Beauty Salon is tucked away in what feels like its own private wing of House of Fraser in Manchester’s trendy Deansgate.
Upon arrival I was greeted by salon Manager Louise and led by trainee Molly though the sleek monochrome and minimalist décor into the reception room, which was a tranquil oasis of calm lit only by the soft shimmer of tea lights. Having hustled and bustled my way through the torrential rain that had just descended on Manchester centre, this was a welcome retreat.
After 5 minutes relaxation with the latest glossy’s and refreshments I returned into the main salon for my consultation with the lovely Louise. We chatted about changing the tone of my blond highlights from a golden tone to a cooler shade, which she described as ‘pastel blond’, a perfect colour transition for the winter months ahead.
A full head of foils were applied as we chatted away about everything from pet dogs to spray tans and beauty must haves – Louise is a girl after my own heart!
Several (quite frankly amazing) cups of tea later, I was led over to the hair basins, complete with reclining chairs – which makes the often awkward angle of neck strain hair-washing altogether a much more blissful experience. Foils were removed and my hair shampooed using Schwarzkopf BC Fibre Force range. A toner was applied to combat any brassiness and to make sure the shade was the perfect cool hue. Another shampoo application was followed by the Fibre Force hydrating and volumising treatment (Louise swears by the Fibre Force range and promised it would give my fine hair some serious body). A relaxing head massage later and it was time for the cut and blow dry.
A spritz of Schwarzkopf Fibre Force heat protection spray to protect from styling damage was applied and Louise coiffured my barnet exactly as promised – a transformation into baby blond voluminous tresses. Louise was right about the Fibre Force products, my hair has never felt so full of body! Louise said you can always tell if the hairdresser has done their job right if you leave the salon feeling like you MUST go out that evening and show of your new hair. Now where did I put my dancing shoes?
