Sassoon is one of the most prestigious names in hairdressing, so when booking in for highlights and a cut there were some seriously high hopes.
The salon situated on bustling South Molton Street, in the very heart of Mayfair, isn’t out of place surrounded by an array of luxe shopping, foodie and beauty haunts. The salon was everything you’d expect from a Sassoon establishment – sleek, shiny, and ultra- contemporary. I took a seat, had a chat with the colourist and stylist and relaxed with a coffee and the latest mags. It took more than the average time to apply the foils, but if you want a good job done then it is worth waiting for. The salon was super busy and everyone seemed to be rushed of their feet, so if you are looking for an oasis of calm this is not the place to be, but give yourself a good time window to visit and you will be fine. A good wait later I was taken to get my hair washed and for an ultra moisturizing treatment to be applied, which was just the boost my hair needed but the junior could have definitely used some practice on the head massage skills.
So 3 ½ hours after arriving at the salon I was sat back down for the cut. My shoulder length hair was at that annoying, boring stage so a revamp was greatly needed. My stylist cut in a front heavy, graduated long bob – this style has been on my radar for a while but no one seems to get it right. However, here at Sassoon, this was without a doubt the best cut I’ve had, and the stylist was a real pro. I was amazingly happy with the results and the colour was perfect baby blonde highlights -exactly as requested. The time taken for the appointment was more than lengthy, and the staff were a little hectic, but when you get a cut and colour this good it’s so worth the extra chair time taken updating yourself with the newest fashion glossies. This is exactly why Sassoon holds its excellent reputation for being some of the best salons in the business.
