Salon & Spa Review: Gina Conway Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa, Chelsea, London

On a wet and miserable evening, I made my way to fancy Chelsea for a much needed barnet replenishment at Gina Conway. Despite the awful weather and busy London traffic, I was immediately transported to a relaxing oasis as soon as I stepped inside and was greeted warmly by staff.

The salon has an intimate and cosy feel, featuring bright lights, comfortable chairs and a chic white décor. Little touches like soothing lavender diffusers in the bathroom also added to the welcoming and tranquil atmosphere.

Upon sitting down I was offered a drink (and went for a delicious green tea) and received a gorgeous five-minute reflexology treatment to really make me feel at ease. The lovely therapist worked beautiful-smelling massage oil through on my pressure points, focusing on my neck, back and head. It was so good that I almost didn’t want it to ever end!

I was then introduced to the lovely Adele, who I discussed my locks concerns with and decided the best option for the rather shamefully dry ends. Adele suggested an all-over caramel hue gloss, which is perfect for sun-damaged hair and helps to deeply condition your strands, boosting shine and healthiness. I was sold!

Adele expertly applied the treatment, before leaving me with a good selection of magazines to enjoy while time went by. Once developed, I was taken over to the washing area, where I experienced Aveda’s Smooth Infusion shampoo and conditioner. Promising to blast frizz, mine certainly felt better and smelt amazing afterwards.

Next up, I was led back to the main area for a healthy snip of those pesky ends and a quick reshape. My hair was then dried into a smooth and sleek style that was full of shine and looked genuinely healthy again – what a miracle! A quick spritz of hairspray was applied to set the shape and prevent any frizz popping up.

I walked away not only feeling pleased as punch with my newly improved mane, but also rejuvenated and relaxed. It’s just a shame the tube journey home quickly changed that mood – typical London!
