The Beauty Column: Simple Summer Hairstyles
Getting ready in the summer can sometimes be a sticky haze of hair. When it’s hot and sunny the best idea is to keep your hair off your face to avoid any potential sweaty neck situations. If you’re bored of basic in the form of ponytails then you’re in for a treat, because I’ve got a few simple, easy and cute hairstyles up my sleeve that I’m willing to share just in time for summer. HAIRSTYLE 1: MESSY BUN
If you’re in a rush to race out into the sun or if you simply can’t be bothered to faff around with the frizz, then a messy bun is the perfect solution. All you need is a hair band and a few hair pins. A high bun allows for ultimate messiness so your best bet is to tip your head upside down, collect all your hair and secure with a hair band. If a bun hairstyle tickles your fancy but you want to jazz it up a bit, then take some tips from Tanya Burr and try your luck at a braided bun. This simple yet elegant hairstyle is perfect for upcoming proms or events you might be attending. It’s a very soft and subtle up do which is the perfect transition from day to night.

If you’re looking for something a little fancier then it might be worth attempting the milkmaid braid. It looks complex, but it’s actually pretty easy, especially with the help of hair goddess Zoella. This would be a really pretty up do for a summer wedding or party. Minimal effort, maximum impact. Not everybody likes having all of their hair off their face, so if you’re keen to keep a down do on the cards over summer then this is perfect for you.
