The Beauty Review: Guys and Dolls Parlour, Shoreditch, London
Review: Kathryn Lewsey
Like most of London, Shoreditch is no stranger to a hefty amount of nail salons. With a dizzying amount on offer to choose from, finding that all-important one can be a tough decision.
Guys and Dolls Parlour is included in this large selection and when we were invited to check out their beautifying services, we couldn’t wait to pop down.
Located just a stone’s throw away from the famous Brick Lane, this unisex salon offers a plethora of beauty treatments and has even bagged a Time Out award.
Arriving into this small but chic salon, I was warmly greeted and offered a cup of tea while the therapist Kay set things up. I was then led downstairs – where the salon has a cosy massage room and pedi area – to experience the salon’s gel pedicure.
Candle-lit and filled with a relaxing aroma, this basement area is the ideal place to escape the hectic city streets and really unwind. I sat down on the plush white leather seat and placed my feet into a basin of warm water.
Once my feet had been treated to a good ol’ soak and exfoliating scrub, Kay patted them dry and got to work on removing any thick, dry skin. Next, she clipped and reshaped my toenails into perfection, as well as trimming and tidying the cuticle area.
I was then taken back upstairs where the gel polish application took place. Kay applied the gorgeous coral hue I’d picked – along with a base and top coat – with care and precision. And afterwards she massaged a luxe smoothing oil on the skin to keep my feet super soft and nourished.
Guys and Dolls is the perfect place to head for some ‘me’ time thanks to its friendly atmosphere and opulent feel.
What makes it even better, is that the men can enjoy it just as much as the girls and living up to its’ name, this salon it has a whole list of treatments especially for the guys, ranging from massages, waxing and nail treatments.
And of course, women can also experience the salon’s indulgent grooming treatments at this professional and inviting beauty getaway.
Upon leaving Guys and Dolls, I was made up with my freshly polished feet and am already planning my next visit.
