The Hotel Review:  Crowne Plaza Chester

Review: Chris Hirst

The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chester is in a perfect location for a city break, situated around 300 yards away from bars and restaurants. We parked in the hotel car park for a small charge but it would have been as easy to take a train as the station is central and close by.  There are so many reasons to visit Chester from the horse racing, zoo,  museums, art galleries and tour buses, to name a few.

On arrival we were met by a friendly member of staff who was very chatty and keen to find out what we wanted out of our stay at the hotel and our visit to Chester. We were then given great advice on where to go and what to do.

We were given our room number and key along with a lovely gesture of access to the club lounge, which was an area with complementary drinks and nibbles.

Our room had a great view of the centre of Chester, and was spacious with a comfy king sized bed and very modern bathroom – we just wished we had more than a one night stay as we were torn between chilling in our lovely room, spending time in the modern bar area or going out to explore, we thankfully managed a little of everything.

Club Motivation is the leisure facility within the hotel with a good sized heated pool, gym, relaxation area and a full spa treatment menu. The hotel also offers conference, meeting facilities and hosts weddings.

The hotel bars were a nice area to chill, all very modern, inviting spaces. The Stable Bar & Restaurant serves Afternoon Tea, snacks and dinner along with the breakfast.

On the morning of our departure, our breakfast was delicious and service was perfect. We checked-out and still the staff was asking how are stay was, how are our night went and where we went showing genuine interest and great friendly service. If you are looking for a central, modern, and friendly hotel we would certainly recommend the Crowne Plaza in Chester for a stay.
