Alexander Wang – Key Collection
Alexander Wang is one of this hottest designers of the moment; head of his own company, Creative Director of Balenciaga and gaining popularity for his urban designs and outstanding styling of uniform-inspired pieces, created in characteristic neutral tones. Wang is known to love the colour black and since debuting his predominately black collection in the Fall of 2008, he more often than not has returned to using this classic colour, which showcases his superb tailoring. Not only are Wang’s designs perfect for work-wear, feminine and timeless, but he is not afraid to add a little edge to his creations with the use of slogans. Using the 90s as inspiration Wang has explained the style as “really fun, when there was wit and humour, and it wasn’t so serious.”
