Salon Review: Electric Hair, Marylebone, London

Electric London

Just a ten minute walk away from the madness of Oxford Street is Electric, an intimate salon located in the stylish streets of Marylebone. I arrived on a Thursday evening for some much needed hair TLC and wasn’t left disappointed.

Electric is a professional hair brand that has a small number of salons dotted around the country including Brighton, Reading and Liverpool.. As well as this, it’s also renowned for its own luxury hair care range and training academy. Mark Woolley, an award-winning hair stylist, is behind the brand, and proves exactly how passionate he is about hair.

With summer finally here, I was looking to go a slightly lighter shade for the warmer months. After a detailed discussion, it was decided that a few golden highlights would be placed in my tresses, to create a caramel hue finish but without it looking streaky!

I enjoyed a glass of wine and selection of the current fashion mags, while the colour was expertly applied to my tresses. The salon has a sleek, modern feel to it, featuring floor-length mirrors and white tiled floors in an open-plan space.

Once my hair had taken the colour, I was led downstairs to where the sinks are. Relaxing in a comfy chair, my foils were efficiently removed and washed out. A toner was then applied to neutralise and cool my hue. Finally, my locks were treated to a deep conditioning mask, which aimed to prevent my hair drying out and restore hydration.

After that, I returned upstairs to get a quick trim. Although happy with the length, the ends were getting a tad straggly and in need of a snip! A few layers were also added in, to give my hair more definition and texture.

Now for the fun part – the blow dry! My newly coloured and cut tresses were blown perfectly in to a style that oozed volume and bounce. I walked away with a barnet to rival Olivia Palermo’s (now I just need her wardrobe..)

I was thrilled with my experience at Electric – staff were professional and friendly, and my hair was exactly how I wanted it to look.
