Salon Review: Essensuals Hair Salon, Covent Garden, London

Essensuals is the little sister of renowned hair expert’s Toni and Guy. First opening in 1997, this diffusion group was created to appeal to a younger market, providing high quality hairdressing in a relaxed, laid-back environment.

Stepping into the Covent Garden location, it certainly gives off this vibe, with a friendly greeting and offering of tea/coffee/water. This small but welcoming salon has a chic, modern interior and oozes professionalism.

Wanting to look my best for the upcoming festive season, I was hoping for a good healthy trim on my lackluster locks and a glossy rich hue, and that’s exactly what I got.

After checking over the wide array of colours and tones available in the Essensuals colour book, it was decided that two shades would be mixed together – a rich chocolate and golden brown – to create the perfect shade for my hair.

Once the colour had developed and been washed out, I was taken back to my seat to get rid of those pesky split ends. Around an inch was cut off to get my tresses into a healthy shape, leaving my hair feeling fresh and lighter.

My newly cut locks were then blow-dried to perfection, styling it to a bouncy, voluminous finish.

For expert cut and coloured hair and a chilled out experience, Essensuals is a must-visit.
