Review: Jennie McDuff

The genius beauty experts at Elemis have launched the perfect treat to soothe your soles and put the spring back in your step this Olympic season, ‘Soles of Gold’ is 15 minute, luxury pick me up for  neglected, tired toes in need of some TLC.

Whether you have been braving the crowds to watch the games, hitting the treadmill yourself or simply need to revive worn out feet after a marathon shopping trip, the Elemis spa pod is hidden in the heart of Oxford Street and offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the capital.

Step inside the tranquil room situated in John Lewis and you will be instantly transported miles from the stresses of city life and met with a little oasis of calm, the perfect stress-busting antidote to the Olympic- madness that has swept the city.

The treatment begins with a full body massage from a state of the art shiatsu massage chair, which cleverly scans the spine for tense points and knotty muscles before concentrating on these problem areas to gently kneed away tension and tightness in the back and shoulders.

As you recline in the heavenly massage chair the therapist then starts by gently cleansing the feet with an invigorating lime infused mitt, before lavishing them with a cocktail of Elemis Musclease Active oil to relax and ease aches and pains and the cooling, Elemis Instant refreshing gel to refresh and revitalize.

Hot stones are then rolled over the feet to work deep into the muscles, concentrating on the reflexology points in the feet associated with the often tension ridden back and shoulders to induce a deep sense of relaxation.  Finally after the dreamy massage, achy arches and puffy ankles are no more and the feet are left feeling like they are walking on air and ready to face the world again.

Elemis Soles of Gold is priced at £10 and is exclusive to John Lewis Oxford Street 0203 073 0681 and John Lewis Stratford 0208 536 0893.
