Salon Review: Rush Salon, Oxford Street, London

Rush salon is located on London’s bustling Oxford Street, tucked in between the dominant retail shop fronts just moments from both Oxford Street and to Tottenham Court Road tubes.
Location wise you can’t get much more convenient with this central spot and it’s super easy to simply drop in 7 days a week if you haven’t got an appointment.
My visit today was for highlights and a cut. I was greeted my the lovely Des, the company consultant, who was a total expert. She chatted to me about the colour, condition and texture of my hair to determine the best colour hues, cut and in salon treatments for me. We went for a half head of highlights to brighten up the mid section and roots with just one colour; a brightening blond, applied with foils. After around 1 hr 15 minutes after colour application and a 10 minute stint under the heater, it was time to head to the wash basins. The foils were removed in reverse order to going in, and each section was washed individually with the gorgeous Kerastase Chronologiste shampoo.
The salon offers a fabulous menu of Kerastase exclusive in-salon treatments and I was happy to trial the most luxurious of them all; the Kerastase 3 step Caviar Ritual. After shampooing, the Kerastase Revitalizing Scalp Exfoliator was applied. It felt a little strange for an exfoliator to be applied to the scalp, but the rich micro-particles give a gentle cleanse along with massaging and purifying the scalp and hair fibre. The Second step was the Kerastase Revitalizing Shampoo which cleanses and invigorates the scalp and hair. After the shampoo rinse I was taken from the wash basins back to my chair where the third step was applied; the Kerastase Revitalizing Balm. Des then mixed the balm together with the exclusive Kerastase caviar-inspired concentrate pearls. This was massaged all over the hair from root to tip and Des gave me an amazing head, neck and shoulder massage whilst I nibbled on Lindt chocolate, salted pretzels and sipped cappuccinos. Who knew a trip to the hair salon could be quite so opulent.
I left with a refreshed glossy barnet and a seriously invigorated scalp – which i have to say, felt quite fabulous. After this salon experience I’m not sure future bog-standard hair appointments at any other salon will quite do anymore!
