ADVATx laser treatment @ 111 Harley St, London, UK

Review: Jamie Roberts

Having experienced a superb facial previously at 111 Harley St., I jumped at the chance to try out their new ADVATx laser treatment, promising painless rejuvenation with its dual wavelength technology to treat a whole host of skincare concerns such as acne, acne scars, tone and texture, melasma, rosacea vascular concerns, redness, sun damage, wrinkles, pores and excess oil production.

As an all-rounder, the ADVATx also works on all skin colourings and skin types, and with zero down-time there is no concern of planning the diary ahead to hide away!

My wonderful therapist Violeta started by taking a brief medical check and then talked me through the technology. I was immediately relaxed in the opulent room, Violeta’s warm demeanour a huge comfort. She explained the dual wavelength technology- the world’s only dual laser producing both 589nm and 1319nm wavelengths for a truly customisable treatment. I wanted to reduce pores, fine lines and give my skin an overall dewy and plumped glow. For this it was recommended to repeat in 6months time, but that one treatment would give me immediate results, as the laser restores the deeper dermis as well as the surface epidermis, providing ongoing results for the weeks ahead. When I mentioned having sensitive skin, Violeta explained that on examination it is more so that the skin needed ‘boosting’ to better perform its function, and that I would find that it is actually less sensitive than I think when functioning at its glowy best.

What makes ADVATx unique is the use of their patented PulSync, which delivers the treatment through a small hand piece without discomfort. After covering my face in a cool gel I could feel Violeta expertly move the laser in quick but short strokes across my face, and I would describe the feeling as warm and slightly pinching- I loved the feeling as it felt like my face was immediately responding. Not every part of my face felt equal and Violeta explained that the ADVATx laser actively finds areas that need improvement and I would say that I could certainly feel more heat in the areas that I knew were more of an issue for my skin.

The PulSync dual laser technology can be tailored to individual need, and the yellow light works to reduce redness, in combination with the infrared targeting blemishes caused by bacteria across both epidermal and dermal level, as well as previous scarring. Violeta completed the first round of laser treatment then worked with the second laser which had a wonderfully warming and tingling feel. She then cleansed my face and applied an SPF moisturiser. Aftercare advice was given, mainly to avoid sports to avoid sweating, and to ensure SPF use in daylight- one area of my routine that I now stick to religiously in my mid 30s and wish I had adopted a decade ago!

On returning home an hour later I was beyond delighted to see how glowy my face both looked and felt; honestly the best it has looked in years. It has now been over a week since my treatment and I have had no breakouts, my pores are reduced and my skin definitely plumper. I cannot wait to see how this continues into the coming weeks and will be ready to jump in with treatment number two come the summer.
