Dr David Jack is big in the skincare world. With a clinical career both in plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine, his expertise led to him opening his own clinics and launching a skincare range.

Initially opening a clinic on Harley Street, the success led to three other locations opening up – Belgravia, Edinburgh and the City, which is where I was kindly invited to check out.

Located a stone’s throw from Bank and Liverpool Street stations, it’s the perfect post-work place to visit when you’re seeking a skin pick-me-up.

I was booked in with Dr Adam to experience the clinic’s anti-wrinkle injections. This particular treatment has won a number of awards and prides itself in providing a natural-looking finish – so I was eager to see for myself.

The clinic is located in the historic Royal Exchange Building and when I entered, I was warmly greeted by reception. The interior had a cool retro feel with rich colours, textured wallpaper and wooden panelling.

Dr Adam led me to the treatment room where we started off by discussing the injections and the look that I wanted to achieve. Since hitting my mid-thirties, I’d noticed more lines appearing on my forehead and around my eyes. I explained that I wanted some help with smoothing out my skin, but to avoid the frozen look.

Analysing my face, Dr Adam talked me through the process, explaining where the injections would go and how this would help to reduce those pesky wrinkles.

After a thorough consultation and signing the relevant paperwork, I laid back on the couch while Dr Adam used a skin pencil to lightly map out where each injection would go. I was going to have five at the top of my forehead, another five along the top of my brows (goodbye frown!) and three along the side of each eye.

Dr Adam handed me a stress ball to squeeze on when the needles went in, but assured me it would only be a tiny sting – and he was right. He calmly talked me through the process as it happened, warning me when an injection was about to go in so that I could anticipate it.

The procedure was super speedy and Dr Adam did it with utter-professionalism and ease, making me feel completely comfortable and safe.

I was given some advice on post-injection care – not laying down for a few hours to ensure the toxin stayed where it had been injected and avoiding things like gyms and steam rooms for 24 hours.  There was no bruising or swelling on my face, just a tiny bit of redness.

It takes two weeks to fully see the effects and by around day three, I was already noticing that my skin looked visibly smoother. Not only that, my complexion had a lovely, youthful glow to it.

By the time it had been a fortnight, my forehead and the area around my eyes were so much smoother and tighter. I had very little lines or wrinkles, but still a little movement and the ability to make facial expressions. The results were very natural, which was exactly what I’d hoped for.

As well as offering injectables, Dr David Jack clinics have a number of high-tech facials and skin treatments to experience. If you’re looking for a glow-up or just some good old pampering, I can’t recommend the clinics enough.
