We were travelling to Barbados for a family wedding, and as we had the Bride & Groom travelling in our group, we thought it would be a nice idea to treat them (and ourselves!) and book The No 1 Clubrooms Lounge at Birmingham Airport. We made the booking via Holiday Extras and the process was super nice and easy. In fact, It proved to be the best idea ever; we avoided the usual airport crowds, and it also gave us a chance for a good catch up over a bite to eat and a drink prior to flying as we had all travelled from different parts of the country.
The No 1 Clubrooms Lounge at Birmingham Airport didn’t disappoint, the swanky decor was an opulent mix of plush velvet armchairs, navy panelled walls, and low hanging pendants casting lovely lighting. Our greeting was warm and welcoming and we were escorted to a group of tables of our choice. We opted for the relaxed lounge seats overlooking the runway, where we had a nice space to ourselves and could get on with our excited chatter without disturbing other travellers.
Each member of our group arrived in a trickle and drinks were delivered via efficient table service . We were impressed with the barista-worthy choices of coffees. When everyone was gathered, a freshly cooked full English breakfast, paired with Prosecco (naturally!), was ordered by all to set us up for the long-haul flight ahead. The food menu offered lots of options, including continental.
We could see flight details in the lounge so it was easy just to kick back and relax, sipping on soft drinks and alcoholic beverages while we had a super-relaxed run up to boarding, avoiding crazy hustle & bustle and restaurant queues. We wouldn’t hesitate to book the No1 Lounge at Birmingham again. Having visited many worldwide airport lounges, this is one of the best, made even better by brilliant, friendly staff who offered us genuinely fantastic service and kicked off the start to a wonderful location wedding trip.
