Nestled in the glam area of Belgravia, ADEM is a salon that opened its doors last year and is already proven to be a big success in the barnet world. Top hairdresser Adem Oygur is the brains behind the salon and with 15 years of experience in the industry, it’s fair to say he knows a thing or two when it comes to hair.
Walking into the salon on a Wednesday afternoon, I was warmly greeted at reception and led over to a styling chair, ready for my hair revival.
The salon itself is a chic space completed with stylish wood panels and an abundance of green plants.
Bringing his Turkish roots to his London salon, Adem’s products are also infused with hazelnuts that are harvested from his family’s farm in Turkey. This super-nourishing ingredient is perfect for adding hydration and strength to your hair – and who doesn’t want that?
Adem and stylist Cem came over, where we discussed my grown-out roots and straggly ends. Sharing his expert opinion, Adem suggested a half-head of foils and good old cut to get my locks back to their best.
After mixing up the bleach, Cem came back over and precisely painted sections of my strands with the dye. I flicked through glossy magazines and nibbled on delicious hazelnuts (also from Adem’s family farm), while Cem worked wonders on my lacklustre locks.
Once the colour had been applied and developed, I was whisked over to the basin to get it all washed off. Cem then covered my strands with a toner to create a creamy hue to my newly-dyed hair.
Washing out the toner, Cem then treated my hair to ADEM’s Pure Hazelnut Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. Both smelled incredible and were packed with revitalising ingredients to revive my hair.
Back over in the styling chair, Cem then dried my hair, revealing the creamy blonde colour that he had created. He’d also made the strands at the front of my face a lighter shade, creating a sun-kissed effect that is most definitely needed now that winter is creeping up.
Snipping away the dead ends and reshaping the front of my hair, Cem then styled my new locks into soft, beachy waves.
My experience at ADEM couldn’t have been better. As well as giving my hair some serious TLC, the friendly atmosphere, attentive staff and sleek interior made my time at the salon a real treat. On top of all that, I couldn’t be happier with my hair – the colour is back to the creamy blonde I love and it finally feels healthy again.
