The Luxe Apartment Review: Cheval Three Quays Penthouse, Tower Bridge, London, UK

Review: Jennifer Bonfield

When it comes to travelling with friends and family, hotels just don’t cut it for the group vibe and what you really need is a home-from home but with a hefty dose of luxury-living upgrade. Cheval Residences are luxury serviced apartments and have several locations around London. We were invited to review the Cheval Three Quays, located at Tower Bridge and discovered this is the ultimate ‘room with a view’.

Out & About

Cheval Three Quays in Tower Bridge is a fantastic location, close to lots of the main London attractions; you really don’t need to be in the heart of the theatre district to be in the hub of the city action on a break to the capital. Saying that, if the West-End is a location you need to get to, it’s just an easy 15-minute tube journey away. There is an array of super-cool restaurants, slick wine bars and hipster pubs nearby. If you are looking for a tried and tested location for a lunch treat, take a trip to dine at Oblix at The Shard, which is beyond excellent with a lunch menu that is nothing less than a foodie heaven and staff that are slick with a warm, welcoming vibe.

The Apartment

Cheval Three Quays has a selection of 1, 2 and 3 bedroomed apartments and two Penthouses’. We stayed in the Tower Bridge View Penthouse, which features one of the best views in London; overlooking the Thames, Tower Bridge and Tower of London.

The open plan living / dining room boasts several floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors leading to the epic balcony, which is more like a massive roof terrace, with space for al fresco dining, and much larger than any home I’ve previously rented in London. On a sunny day, this really is the dream.

The living room has ample lounging and entertaining space and is fitted with a light control and air con panel that covers the entire apartment and that honestly is more complex to figure out than Ikea flat pack, however the concierge are on hand to offer any assistance needed in mere minutes.

The lounge area has a huge corner sofa, a huge flat-screen TV, Bose sound system and a selection of the glossiest magazines. The dining area has a lavish circular dining table fitting around 8 people and framed with super-cool pendant lighting and floor lamps, creating the perfect dinner party setting. The kitchen is well equipped with a wine fridge and a hamper of food essentials. If cooking is not on your radar, room service is available from 5pm until 5am.

The bathrooms are just as luxe as the rest of this pad with two en-suites and a WC in the hallway. Featuring the very best of bathtubs, built-in tv’s, Monsoon walk-in showers and double sinks – all stocked with ample Hermes toiletries.

There is so much to do in London and its is for sure one of the world’s most exciting cities, however once you’ve checked in to your luxury pad at Cheval Three Quays, you may actually never want to leave. The service, location, concierge, and of course the apartments themselves, are nothing less than 5-star. This is a property that is perfect for families, groups of friends and couples breaks and we hope to be swiping our swanky keycard in the swanky lift again there real soon.
