Salon Review: Jason Collier @ Smooth You Town Spa, Dalston, London

Known for snipping the barnets of Victoria Beckham and Sienna Miller; Jason Collier is big news on the hair scene. And when I was invited to have my own strands tended to by the man himself, how could I refuse?
Currently Creative Director at Smooth You Town Spa, Jason splits his time between the Dalston-based salon and at various fashion and magazine shoots.
Arriving on a Saturday morning, I was warmly greeted at reception and offered a cup of tea to sip while filling out the salon’s mandatory form. Jason then gave me a quick tour of the chic and modern spa, which has rooms dedicated to the likes of tanning, facials and waxing.
Not stopping there, there’s also an area where you can get your make-up done or pick up new beauty tricks – basically, everything a girl could want ahead of getting ready for a big night out!
Led over to the hairdressing section, I sat down with Jason to discuss my barnet wishes – to refresh my balayage colour and hydrate the dry, knotted ends. Ready for action, Jason mixed up a gorgeous golden hue and carefully applied it to my locks.
I was left with magazines and more tea while the colour developed. Thirty minutes later, Jason whisked me away to the relaxing sink area, where I sank down into a super comfortable chair. Here, a toner was applied on to the ends of my tresses to brighten up the blonde. And a speedy 10 minutes later, my locks were coated with a hydrating Kevin Murphy treatment mask, before getting rinsed, shampooed and conditioned.
Returning back to the main area, Jason revived my hair and trimmed off those pesky dead ends to reveal a smoother and healthier ‘do.
Finally, Jason worked his magic to dry and style my locks into a glossy, bouncy style. Set with a spritz of hairspray, I departed the salon feeling pleased as punch with my new tresses.
