The Manor House Hotel in Alsager is a family run venue located in the Cheshire countryside. Originally starting as a 17th century farmhouse, this hotel has recently undergone a fabulous spa refurbishment with a swim up pool bar and indoor serenity pool. The hotel houses The Stable bar and grill, and the hotel is also a popular wedding venue.
The Spa
The English Spa Garden features a host of new spa additions includes a new outdoor swim-up pool bar and a 15-metre indoor serenity pool, both indoor and outdoor pools are heated to a divine tropical temperature and surrounded by comfy day beds and luxe loungers.
The Spa Garden is set out in zones and features sunken Hydrotherapy Tub, The Pool House and Swim Up Bar, The Pavilion (a panoramic pod heated to 30-35c, with day beds looking out over tranquil, stretching countryside views), The Potting Shed (Herbal Sauna), and Plunge Bath to name a few. The spa also houses a steam room and a sauna and relaxation room, with oversized love seats to relax or snooze post-treatment.
Another new addition to the spa is the Salt Shed experience (£15pp for 30 mins). This is a guided meditation in a sauna with Himalayan salt wall, lavender aromatherapy, and curved bench seating, taking mindfulness exercise to a whole new level.
Spa Treatments
The treatment menu (partnered with the amazing Temple Spa) is filled with relaxing and invigorating treatments designed to soothe, de-stress or renew the mind and body. I tried the TEMPLE SPA x MANOR HOUSE YUMMY MUMMY pregnancy treatment.
This glorious signature treatment gave soothing relief for tired, heavy legs and feet with an uplifting exfoliation and soothing massage. This was followed by a revitalising facial topped off with an invigorating yet relaxing scalp massage. My therapist was truly amazing, and this is a treat to be 100% recommended for any mum-to-be looking for some chill time.

Dining & Drinking
The Stables restaurant serves Gastropub food, sourcing seasonal ingredients for a relaxed dining experience. The menu has a great choice and features dishes such as NDUJA & RED SHRIMP PAPPARDELLE PASTA and MAPLE GLAZED PORK TENDERLOIN along with a great grill section.
For steak lovers we absolutely recommend the 40-DAY AGED HEREFORD RIBEYE STEAK Himalayan salt aged, with marrow fat butter, salted fries, rocket & parmesan salad, and the 16oz SALT AGED HEREFORD T-BONE with truffle & parmesan fries. The food deserves some real praise, and The Stables is absolutely worthy of revisiting again and again.
Overall, the bedrooms are very basic, and it would be great to see the same level of luxe attention applied here as is with the overall spa. The spa staff and therapists were amazing, and the English Spa Garden is glorious; a fantastic venue for girls getaways, and couples retreats.
